Nat\\\'l junior women\\\'s boxing begins

The Walton Refrigerator the 13th National Intermediate and the 1st Junior Women's Boxing Competition began Thursday at the Mohammad Ali Boxing Stadium in the city, reports UNB.
Participants competed in the day's preliminary phase of the meet, split in six weight categories -- 46kg, 49kg, 52kg, 56kg, 60kg and 69kg-in the intermediate group, and in five weight categories-
36kg, 40kg, 45kg, 50kg and 55kg-in the women's group. In all, 116 boxers -- 86 males and 30 females-from Divisional Sports Associations, district teams, services teams and different clubs of the country are taking part in the four-day meet, organised by the Bangladesh Amateur Boxing Federation (BABF).
Two best boxers of the meet-one each from intermediate and women's groups-will be awarded with Walton home appliances by sponsors Walton (RB) Group.
Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy inaugurated the meet in the morning. Additional Director and Head of Games and Sports of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn and its Sports Ambassador Zobera Rahman Linu were present as the special guests.
