Nat'l Life Ins AGM approves 20pc cash, 20pc stock dividends

The 22nd annual general meeting (AGM) of the National Life Insurance Company has approved 20 per cent cash and 20 per cent stock (bonus share) dividends for the year that ended on December 31, 2006.
The AGM was held in the city recently with its founder chairman M Haider Chowdhury in the chair, said a press release.
A larger number of shareholders and directors of the company attended the AGM.
It was disclosed in the meeting that the premium collection for the year 2006 was Tk 3160.80 million, which was the highest collection among the life insurance company of the country.
The life fund was increased to Tk 7135.01 million and total assets of the company reached at Tk 8574.31 million, the release added.
The shareholders highly appreciated the board of directors for the achievement, the release stated.
