Nat'l Mourning Day observed in dists

National Mourning Day and the 48th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed in districts on Tuesday with due respect and solemnity, reports BSS.
In Rajshahi, the day was observed with a fresh vow to materialise the dreams of Bangabandhu to build a 'Sonar Bangla' and to bring back the fugitive convicted killers of Bangabandhu to execute the verdict of the murder case.
City unit of Bangladesh Awami League and its front organisations garlanded the portrait of Bangabandhu paying rich tribute to him at the Bangabandhu mural at C&B Crossing and the city unit office.
Unit president Muhammad Ali Kamal and Vice-presidents Naosher Ali, Shafiqur Rahman and Sheikh Tabibur Rahman, among others, were present on the occasion. Afterwards, they took out a large mourning procession and paraded the main city streets.
In Rangpur, the divisional and district administrations, Rangpur City Corporation, Rangpur Metropolitan Police, Rangpur Range Police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13, Awami League, different government departments, educational institutions, socio-cultural and professional and other organisations observed the day through elaborate programmes.
The observance began with hoisting of the national flag at half-mast atop all government, semi-government, autonomous, private buildings and educational institutions after sunrise.
In Gaibandha, the day was observed with a fresh vow to materialize the dreams of Bangabandhu to build a 'Sonar Bangla' and the farsighted vision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to build 'Smart Bangladesh' and to bring back the fugitive convicted killers of Bangabandhu to execute verdict of the murder case.
Various government and non-government organisations including district administration, political parties, socio-cultural organisations and educational institutions observed the day.
In Panchagarh, in observance of the day, floral wreaths were placed on the mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Shiekh Mujuibur Rahman near Circuit house here from 9 am on Tuesday.
At first, Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujon placed a floral wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu at his mural here.
The day's programmes started with hoisting of national flags at half-mast atop all government, semi-government, autonomous, private buildings and educational institutions after sunrise.
A mourning procession was brought out from the circuit house area which paraded the different streets of the town. Railways Minister Md, Nurul Islam Sujon, DC Johurul Huque, Police Super SM Sirajul Huda and a large number of Awami League leaders and workers took part in the rally.
In Manikganj, the programmes of the day started with the hoisting of national flags at half-mast in all government, semi-government, autonomous, private buildings and all educational institutes in the morning, placing floral wreaths on the portrait of Bangabandhu at the Martyrdom Freedom Fighters Memorial (Shahid MuktiJoddha Smriti Stomvo).
In Netrakona, Netrakona district administration, different socio-cultural organisations, political parties including Awami League, professional groups and educational institutions chalked out various programmes to observe the day.
The day's programmes started with hoisting of national flags at half-mast atop all the public and private buildings across the district and placing floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu.
