Bangladesh Hockey Federation has taken decision on the sponsorship of some of the upcoming tournaments, including the National Youth Hockey Competition, which is expected to begin on September 15.
Araf Apparels would sponsor the youth hockey competition, informed Hockey Federation Treasurer Abdur Rashid while talking to the reporters Saturday afternoon.
"Earlier, we planned to start the Youth Hockey from August 25, but decided to defer the date on requests from the participating teams. We expect 15 to 20 teams to take part in this season's youth competition," he said.
Rashid also informed that the Cotton Group would sponsor three tournaments -- Victory Day Hockey Competition, Shaheed Smriti Hockey Competition and Independence Day Hockey.
He said they are planning to launch the Office League from September 5 with the participation of the Services teams.
Meantime, Metro Group will sponsor the School Hockey Competition, which is scheduled to begin on December 15.
The decisions were taken at a meeting of the Hockey Federation held Friday night with its President Air Chief Air Marshall SM Ziaur Rahman in the chair.
Except General Secretary Shamsul Bari, currently abroad for treatment, most of the Federation members were present at the meeting.
