Natore potters face hard days

NATORE, Oct 9 : The potters in the district of Natore have been going through hard days since earthen made products have lost their past popularity for various reasons. Buyers now-a-days prefer aluminum and melamine made cookeries because they are not fragile, last for a long time and are comparatively cheap.
The price of the fuel-wood raw materials like being costly, the cost of the finished product becomes high. At present there are about 500 families many of whom might leave their ancestral profession for survival if the situation would not improve.
The potters of Natore district need government financial support to continue their business.
