Nat’l Men\\\'s Handball kicks off

The EXIM Bank 24th National Men's Handball Championship began Sunday at the Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali Handball Stadium in the city, reports BSS.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder, MP, inaugurated the meet as the chief guest while Secretary of National Sports Council Shivnath Roy was present as the special guest.
On the opening day, Chapainawabganj district, Border Guard Bangladesh, Rajshahi district, Bangladesh Police, Gazipur district, Bangladesh Ansar, Jessore district, Panchagarh district, Patuakhali district, Chittagong district, Gopa- ganj district, Gaibandha district, Sunam- ganj district, Mymensingh district and Chuadanga district won their opening matches.
A total of 29 teams, including 26 district sports associations and three services teams, split into eight groups, are taking part in the championship, sponsored by EXIM Bank and organised by Bangladesh Handball Federation.
