Navy chief off to UAE

Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Z U Ahmed left the city Sunday to attend the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium scheduled to begin today (Monday) in United Arab Emirates' (UAE) capital Abu Dhabi, says a press release.
Ahmed will call on naval chiefs of participating countries. He will highlight the development activities of Bangladesh Navy in the symposium. He will also discuss matters of bilateral issues about naval armaments, security of maritime resources and maritime boundary.
Vice Admiral ZU Ahmed will also call on President of Abu Dhabi, Prime Minister of Dubai and Naval Chief of UAE and discuss on enhancing naval security and training activities between friendly countries.
The navy chief is expected to return home May 15.
