Navy, SB reach semis in Independence Day Hockey

Bangladesh Navy and Sadharan Bima moved to the semifinal of the Lyric Group Independence Day Hockey Competition winning their respective group B matches at the Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium in the city Monday, reports UNB. In the day's first match, Bangladesh Navy thrashed all-losers Armanitola Juniors by 10-1 goals. Belal scored three goals, Rimon and Shihab scored two goals each, while Sohag Mortuza and Yakub netted one goal apiece for the winners. Rakib netted the consolation goal for the losers. In the day's second match, Sadharan Bima was declared 2-0 winners against Bangladesh Air Force who earlier refused to play the match. Today's matches: Police vs Rampura KC at 2:45 pm and Army vs Navy at 4:30.
