Sunday, 2 August 2015

Bangladesh National Front (BNF) chairman and former minister Barrister Nazmul Huda Saturday urged BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia not to observe her birthday on August 15, the National Mourning Day, by cutting cakes, reports BSS.
"August 15 is a sad day for the nation. It is unfortunate that we cannot observe the day collectively," he said speaking as chief guest at a human chain in front of National Press Club in the city.
Jatiya Ganatantrik League and National Awami Party (Bhashani) jointly organised the human chain before a procession marking the National Mourning Day that commemorates the assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members on August 15, 1975.
Barisal district Awami League President Talukder Mohammad Yunus, MP, attended the programme as special guest.
Presided over by Ganatantrik League President MA Jalil, the rally was also addressed by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote general secretary Arun Sarkar Rana, NAP leader Moshtaq Ahmed Bhashani and Kazi Aref Foundation president Kazi Masud Ahmed, among others.
Nazmul Huda said it is not right to observe anyone's birthday on the mourning day.
