Nazrul\\\'s birth anniv celebrations begin Sunday

The 115th birth anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam will be celebrated at Trishal at Mymensingh through a 3-day national level programme. The celebrations, jointly organised by Cultural Affairs Ministry and Mymensingh district administration, will begin on Sunday (May 25) at Darirampur Nazrul Mancha and continue till May 27. The programmes include colourful rallies, discussions, cultural shows, gathering of poets, staging of dramas and dance sequences. Eminent artistes of the country will attend the cultural shows. A three-day fair styled ‘Nazrul Mela’ will also be held marking the occasion. Finance Minister AMA Muhith will inaugurate the celebrations as the chief guest. Minister for Religious Affairs Principal Matiur Rahman and Advocate Reza Ali will be the special guests with Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor in the chair at the opening ceremony, according to a news agency.
