Nazrul\\\'s birth anniv observed in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, May 26: Different government and socio-cultural organisation of Rajshahi observed the 116th birth anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, Monday.
To mark the day, the organisations chalked out day-long programmes including discussion meetings, cultural events, recitation of his poems and photographic and documentary exhibition on Nazrul. Rajshhai district administration, yesterday afternoon organised a discussion meeting at the Zila Shilpokala Academy auditorium. Nazrul was a poet of equality, humanity, and rebel.  That's why he was also the poet of all people irrespective of religion, they also said.
Mohammed Mejbah Uddin, district commissioner (DC) of Rajshahi, was addressed as the chief guest in the discussion meeting. Prof. Nurul Modasser of Fine Arts department at Rajshahi University (RU) presented as key speaker while additional district commissioner (ADC) Jakir Hossain was in the chair.
Moreover, the teachers and students of the Exim bank Agriculture University (EBAU), in Chapainawabgong, marked the day of national poet birthday with proper esteem yesterday at the campus, a press release said. To paid tributes to the national poet, EBAU arranged a discussion meeting and cultural event at the campus premises.Chapainawabganj district commissioner Mohammed Jahangir Kabir was the chief guest while vice chancellor presided over the occasion.    belal.feni@gmail.com
