NBR chairman, four other secretaries shuffled

Badiur Rahman who was appointed as the country's chief revenue collector on Jan 21 was transferred in a major administrative reshuffle Thursday. According to an establishment ministry circular, Badiur Rahman, secretary of the Internal Resources Division and chairman of the National Board of Revenue, has been transferred to the food and disaster management ministry. Mohammad Abdul Majid, member of the Planning Commission, became NBR chairman. Abdul Majid was promoted secretary on Sept 18. Badiur Rahman's transfer was a much-talked-about issue for the administration and the media Wednesday.
