NBR launches spot assessment in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Nov 4: National Board of Revenue yesterday (Wednesday) launched Spot Assessment service in Rangpur Wednesday to bring people under taxation by assessing income at the spot.
Commissioner of Taxes of Rangpur tax region Md Belel Uddin launched the Spot Assessment service at Rangpur municipality market. Md Belal Unddin told the FE that to bring more people under taxation is the main objective of Spot Assessment.
He said a team of NBR are moving to different business establishment, assessing the income of the businessmen and collect their taxes on the spot.
NBR introduced the service for the advantage of the businessmen that were not brought under taxation earlier.
As per circular of NBR a businessman who has capital money of Tk 0.8 million in his business has to pay Tk 2000 and who has above Tk 0.8 million, has to pay Tk 4000 for tax for one year.
