NCC Bank procures Tk 31.55b deposit in 1st half

National Credit and Commerce (NCC) Bank Ltd procured a total deposit of Tk 31.5551 billion (3,155.51 crore) in the 1st half of 2007 which was 24.39 per cent higher than that of the previous half year. Total loans and advances of the bank stood at 26.9237 billion in June 2007.
It was revealed at its Half-Yearly Branch Managers' Conference in the city Sunday.
NCC Bank Chairman Tofazzal Hossain inaugurated the conference presided over by Managing Director Md Nurul Amin.
The bank's former chairman Mahbubul Alam Tara, directors Fakhrul Anwar and Manzurul Hassan Talukder and former vice chairman Khairul Alam Chaklader were present at the programme as special guests.
The meeting evaluated the performance of the branches for the last six months and adopted necessary strategy and action plan to achieve the target as per annual business plan for the remaining part of the year.
Tofazzal Hossain, in his speech, said that banking nowadays was not just procuring deposits and lending money in conventional way.
"Situation has changed, we must be aware of this changed situation and steps should be taken to face it."
He urged the managers to ensure efficient and personalised service to the clients and develop professional knowledge and skill at all levels.
Managing Director, in his welcome speech, gave a detailed account of the performance of the bank in different areas namely deposit mobilisation, business procurement, foreign trade expansion, etc during the last six months.
