Needless honking of vehicles
Thursday, 17 March 2022
Whenever we go out of our home, we notice a plethora of nuisances on the roads. And one of them is unnecessary honking particularly by buses and motorcycles. Teenagers and even adults use horns unreasonably. They do not care whether they are honking in front schools or hospitals. The noise from cars, pickup trucks and bikes with modified exhaust systems has now become intolerable for most of us.
Noise causes severe agitation and can even trigger mental disorders. Such pollution can make people suffer from anxiety or cardiac issues. In the West, honking is used just to ward off wild animals from coming on the road. Sadly, in Bangladesh, the case is completely the opposite. The government should impose fines on offenders. Shouldn't a pollution-free environment be our right?
