Neglected wage earners

It is very unfortunate to find so many Bangladeshis stranded in Tunisia and Libya after having endured great sufferings trying to flee a war-torn nation. While they suffer, the Bangladesh government makes no sincere and pragmatic efforts to get these people back home. I think that is a matter of great disgrace for the nation. Politicians are quick to beat their chest and announce efforts to export manpower and use their remittances to boost the national exchequer. But when it comes to rescue these citizens, they take a back seat and rely on the International Organisation of Migration (IOM) to do the job. Even the IOM is saying that the government is half-hearted in its efforts to take back its citizens. I urge upon all to raise voice in support of these stranded fellow citizens and if need be, launch private efforts to raise money to get these people back home. Too bad, the nation can spend billions to showcase ICC Cricket World Cup, but it cannot spare dimes when it comes to looking after its own citizens stranded abroad.
