Negligence in duties won\\\'t be tolerated

CHITTAGONG, May 18 (BSS): The newly-elected mayor of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) AJM Nasir Uddin said on Monday he will not tolerate negligence in duties by the CCC officials.
He said nothing can stand on the way to development of Chittagong city if all the officials of CCC work together with utmost sincerity.
"You are the permanent officials of the city corporation, so you have more responsibilities", Nasir said this while addressing a view-exchange meeting with CCC officials at the city's Theatre Institute.
Urging the CCC officials to work together, the mayor asked them to mark the water-logging prone areas in the city and take steps to reduce the sufferings in the areas.  
He also directed them to take steps for digging the filled-up canals in the city as soon as possible.
Presided over by CCC chief executive officer Mohammad Shafiul Alam, the meeting was addressed, among others, by acting mayor Mohammad Hossain, panel mayor Chowdhury Hasan Mahmud Hasny, chairman of CCC waste management stranding committee Haji Nurul Hoque, CCC secretary Rashid Ahmed.
