Wednesday, 6 August 2014
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday said the relations among Saarc member countries could be strengthened further through generation of hydroelectricity in Nepal and its marketing. Hasina made the remarks when Nepal’s Minister for Energy Radha Kumar Gyawall paid a courtesy call on her at her official residence Ganabhaban in the evening. After the meeting, PM’s Press Secretary AKM Shameem Chowdhury briefed reporters. Hasina said Bangladesh could buy or invest in hydropower projects in Nepal and emphasised grid connectivity between the two countries. About transit to Nepal, she said, the Himalayan nation could use roads and railways for boosting trade relations with Bangladesh.
