Nepal take on the Maldvies today (Sunday) in the first SAAF Women's Football Championship beginning in the tourist town of Cox's Bazar, reports UNB.
FIFA Women's wing chairman Woravi Makudi will inaugurate the 12-day meet as the chief guest. FIFA Development Officer Manilal Fernando and other top officials of AFC and SAFF will be present on the occasion.
The match kicks off at 2:45 pm after one and a half hours of colourful opening ceremony beginning at 12 noon at the Cox's Bazar Stadium.
Tournament media partner ATN Bangla will telecast live the opening ceremony and the match.
Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka tomorrow (Monday) at 2:45 pm while favourite India will face Bhutan in the day's other fixture at 11:05 am at the same venue.
Bangladesh has been placed in tough Group A along with SA Games champions India, Sri Lanka and Bhutan while Group B comprises Pakistan, Nepal, Afghanistan and Maldives.
The home time will meet Bhutan on December 15 at 2:30 pm and play their giant rival India on December 17 at 2:30 pm.
