Nepalese Foreign Minister Mahendra Bahadur Pandey arrived in Dhaka on Sunday to invite Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina to attend the 18th Saarc Summit, scheduled to be held in Kathmandu, reports UNB.
He will meet the PM at her official residence Ganobhaban at 6:30pm today (Monday) and will hand over Nepalese PM Sushil Koirala's invitation to her, said an official.
Nepal is hosting the 18th Summit of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) on November 26-27, after a two-year gap.
Mahendra Pandey is scheduled to leave for Bhutan on Tuesday morning as he will visit Bhutan and India to hand over Nepalese PM's invitations to heads of government of the two countries.
From Dhaka, he will travel to Thimphu, Bhutan on Tuesday and meet Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and hand over the invitation on the same day.
On October Pandey will visit New Delhi and the next day, he is scheduled to call on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and hand him the invitation.
The Nepalese Foreign Ministry is reportedly working on Minister Pandey's visits to Pakistan and Afghanistan straight from India to extend invitations there.
As an envoy to Nepalese PM Koirala, Pandey last month visited the Maldives and Sri Lanka and handed invitations to Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen and Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa for the regional summit.
