Netherlands clinched a historic win to reach the Super10 of the World T20 in Sylhet on Friday, chasing down Ireland's 189-run total in an astonishing 13.5 overs. The Dutch broke several world records in the process - the fastest team 100 in just 7 overs, the highest number of sixes in a T20 innings - 19, and the most runs in the powerplay – 91. Earlier, Andrew Poynter played a belligerent knock to take Ireland to 189 against Netherlands in their last match of the qualifying round of the World T20. Poynter scored 57 off 38 balls, which consisted of four boundaries and four sixes, and was well accompanied by Kevin O’Brien, who himself smashed 42 from 16 balls. Skipper William Porterfield set up the Irish for the huge total with an early onslaught of 47 from 32 balls. The match was a must-win one for both the teams.
