Netherlands keen to invest in agro-processing

The Netherlands is keen to invest in strengthening food security initiatives and the agro product processing industry in Bangladesh. This was conveyed by Dutch Ambassador in Dhaka Gerben de Jong when he met with Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu at his office on Sunday. After the meeting, Amu said the Netherlands also assured Bangladesh of providing support to develop an environment-friendly ship-breaking sector and leather industry in the country. Recalling the Netherlands’ contribution to the country’s water resource sector, the Industries Minister said the government will positively consider the proposal of Netherlands to invest in the country’s agro-processing sector, food security and manufacture of agricultural tools and equipment, according to a news agency.
