Netherlands shows interest in deep seaport, LNG terminals

The Netherlands has showed interest to provide financial and technical assistance for building a deep seaport and LNG terminals in Bangladesh. Netherlands Ambassador in Dhaka Gerben Sjoerd De Jong on Sunday said this when he met Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal at the latter’s office in the capital. At a joint press briefing, Minister Mustafa Kamal told reporters, “He (envoy) has come with proposals for a deep seaport and LNG terminals. Netherlands is interested in providing assistance for river dredging.” The minister informed the Dutch envoy urged the government measures to improve the RMG sector saying, “The government has taken all possible measures so that no incident like Rana Plaza collapse can recur in the future,” according to a news agency.
