Netrakona floods cause severe damage to Aman crop

NETRAKONA, Nov 10: Netrakona has suffered huge Aman crop damage this year due to floods this season compared that of last year.
Although the target of Aman cultivation has exceeded, the recent floods have caused severe damage in Netrakona sadar, Kalmakanda, Barhatta and Mohanganj upazilas.
According to the district agricultural extension department, Aman on 10,190 hectares of was completely damaged in the last floods.
Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension Habibur Rahman said production would be lower as Aman fields were damaged by the floods. However, if the weather is favourable next time, the yield will increase at least a little. However, Aman paddy has started to be harvested in some areas.
