Netrakona people remember glorious role of seven martyred freedom fighters

NETRAKONA, Dec 2 (BSS): The people of Netrakona district will ever remember the supreme sacrifices made by seven valiant freedom fighter, in a fierce frontal fight with the Pakistani occupation forces during the War of Liberation.
In this connection, Netrakona District Muktijoddha Sangsad and local people celebrate the 26 July as "Historic Nazirpur Day" every year since the independence commemorating the "glorious role" and "supreme sacrifice" of the seven martyred freedom fighters.
According to the history of the Liberation War and Netrakona Muktijoddha Sangsad office sources, the martyred freedom fighters are Bizendra Bhabatosh, Ashutosh, Year Mahmud, Fazlul Haque, Dr Abdul Aziz and Mohammad Jamaluddin.
During the liberation war, a group of 17 freedom fighters, including the seven martyred fighters, received a secret information that a platoon of Pakistani soldiers with heavy arms were coming to Nazirpur Bazar area on way to Kalmakanda Upazila Sadar.
After receiving the information, the small team of the freedom fighters led by Nazmul Haque Tara decided to resist the advance of the occupation force.
