New $2b Indian credit fully unconditional: PM

Wednesday, 10 June 2015

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina told parliament on Wednesday that Bangladesh is taking $2 billion Indian loan without any condition. “There’s no condition here, there’s nothing here, we can spend this money on (any programme of) our choice,” she said. The Prime Minister was responding to a supplementary question from Independent MP Rustam Ali Faraji (Pirojpur-3) during PM’s question-answer session. During Indian Prime Minister Norendra Modi’s recent visit to Bangladesh both counties signed an MoU for extending a new line of credit of US$ 2 billion, according to a news agency.
