Mr. S.K. Sur Chowdhury and Mr Sudhir Chandra Das have been promoted as Executive Directors of Bangladesh Bank.
Prior to this, Mr Chowdhury was the General Manager of the Department of Off-site Supervision of the central bank, said a press release.
Mr. Sur Chowdhury received his graduation and post-graduation degrees in English from Rajshahi University. He also obtained Masters to Business Administration in Finance and Accounting. He stood first in the Banking Diploma Examination Part-Two in the year 1982 and was awarded Bangladesh Bank Medal.
He started his banking career with the Bangladesh Bank in 1981 as class-I officer. Mr. Sur Chowdhury served in different capacities at Departments like Banking Inspection, Bangladesh Bank Training Academy and Department of Banking Operation.
Prior to his promotion, Sudhir Chandra Das was the general manager of Human Resources Department of the bank.
Das started his career in Bangladesh Bank as class one officer in 1981 just after the completion of his B.Sc (hons) and M.Sc in Geography and Environmental Science from Dhaka University. He obtained MBA degree from IBA in 1985 and completed banking diploma in 1986.
