New BIFS Rajshahi committee formed

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, June 13: Prof. Abdul Khaleq, former Vice Chancellor of Rajshahi University (RU) and poet Ariful Haque were made president and general secretary respectively of Bangladesh-India Friendship Society (BIFS), Rajshahi unit, said a press release.
The full-fledged committee was formed from a meeting on Thursday night at the conference room of the North-Bengal International University (NBIU) in the city.
Other office bearers are vice presidents Engineer Tajul Islam, principal Shafiqul Islam and Prof. PM Shafiqul Islam, joint-general secretaries Prof. Sujit Kumar Sarker and Dr. Sabrina Naz, organising secretary Prof. Bidhan Chandra Das, education affairs secretary Dr. Munshi Monjurul Haque, health & rehabilitation secretary Dr. Abdul Alim, public relations and publishing secretary Anil Kumar Sarker, industry and business secretary Indar Bhuson Rana, publication secretary Dr. Abul Hasan Chowdhury.
