New chairman of Petrobangla

Jalal Ahmed joined the Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Resources Corporation (Petrobangla) as chairman on September 24.
Earlier, he was the chief metropolitan magistrate in Dhaka for about three years. Ahmed, an officer of the 1982 batch of BCS, has earned experience in field administration and different posts in the secretariat.
He also worked as senior assistant secretary and joint secretary of Energy and Mineral Resources Division, deputy director of Hydrocarbon Unit of the same division and deputy commissioner of Thakurgaon and Faridpur districts in his prolonged service career.
