New chairman, Vice-chairmen of SIBL

Akkas Uddin Mollah was elected chairman and Mohammad Hasan and Syed Nurul Arefeen were elected vice-chairmen of Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd (SIBL) in the bank's 84th board meeting held in the city recently.
Director of the bank Md Towhidur Rahman presided over the board meeting, said a press release.
The newly elected chairman, Akkas Uddin Mollah, is a renowned industrialist and businessman of the country.
He was born in a respectable Muslim family of Nababganj, Dhaka.
After completing his education, Mollah started the export business of readymade garments and established a number of garment industries in the country.
The other vice-chairman Syed Nurul Arefeen was born in 1962 in a respectable Muslim family of Panch Elachina Village at Delduar Upazila under Tangail District.
He obntained his Honours degree in Accounting from the University of Dhaka in 1988. He took his MBA from Deemed University, Lucknow, India.
He is a distributor of Birla Tyres of India and Proprietor of Solar Trading Co, and Solar Transport Company.
Arefeen is also the managing partner of Solar Autos Company and Solar Telecommunications and Director of Universal Yarn Dyeing Ltd.
