New Chief Justice takes oath Dec 23

Newly-appointed Chief Justice of the country M Tafazzul Islam will take oath of office on December 23, reports BSS.
President Zillur Rahman will administer the oath at a ceremony at 9.30 am at Bangabhaban in the city, official source said.
The outgoing Chief Justice MM Ruhul Amin will pay a farewell call on the President at Bangabhaban today (Tuesday), it said.
President Zillur Rahman appointed Justice M Tafazzul Islam, a judge of the Appellate Division, the Chief Justice of the country on December 15 last. The President made the appointment as per article 95 (1) of the Constitution.
Outgoing Chief Justice Ruhul Amin goes into retirement today and the appointment of new Chief Justice will be effective from Dec 23.
Justice Islam headed an Appellate Division bench formed for the appeal hearing of the Bangabandhu Murder Case.
