New cold storage opens in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI, Mar 9: A local private company has opened a mega cold storage with the capacity of 15,000 tonnes of potato at Bismuri village under Ramnagar Union parishad recently.
A US expatriate Md Shelim established the cold storage, named Ankur on 3.19 acres of land at a cost of Tk 290 million out of which RAKUB provided Tk 160 million as term loan.
RAKUB Managing Director Fazlul Hoque, directors Rustam Ali Ahamed, Jahangir Kabir, Younus Ali, Nilphamari Poura Mayor Dewan Kamal Ahamed and former whip Dewan Nurunnabi were present at the opening ceremony among others.
The new cold storage would greatly help reduce potato storage problem in the district.
