New CRO joins DSE

Khairul Bashar Abu Taher Mohammad, a former official of the securities regulator, joined Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) as its chief regulatory officer (CRO) on Sunday. Earlier, the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) approved his appointment on March 23. Mr. Bashar completed graduation in Finance from the University of Dhaka and started his career at Standard Chartered Bank in 1991. Before joining the premier bourse DSE as its CRO, Mr. Bashar was the chief executive officer of MTB Capital. He was also the secretary general of Bangladesh Merchant Bankers Association (BMBA) in 2018-19.
