The government is going to introduce new curriculums at the levels of primary, secondary, ibtedayee and technical education from the academic year 2013, reports BSS.
Writing of all textbooks has started in the light of
'National Education Policy 2010' to develop a meritorious nation and meet the demands of the day, National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) Chairman Prof M Mostafa Kamaluddin said.
Two new subjects would be included in the new curriculums - one is 'information and communication technology' (ICT) and another is 'work and career', the NCTB chairman said, adding, "The curriculums are being modernised to keep pace with the world."
The work on changing the primary and secondary education curriculums has already progressed a lot, according to the NCTB chief.
He said the curriculums of dakhil, ibtedayee and technical education are also being changed under their respective education boards.
Prof Kamaluddin said the existing curriculum in the secondary level was prepared in 1996 while that in the primary level was made in 2002.
