New executives of BPGMEA

Shahedul Islam Helal had been elected president and Mosaddekur Rahman Nannu general secretary of the Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BPGMEA). Shamim Ahmed and KM Iqbal Hossain had been elected senior vice- president and vice- president respectively of the association, said a press release.
The newly elected executive committee took over the charges Saturday from the outgoing committee at BPGMEA office in the city.
Other elected office bearers are--- Jantu Kumar Saha, Joint General Secretary, Md. Noor Hossain, Assistant General Secretary, Md. Mohsin Bhuiyan, Treasurer, Haji Abdul Mannan, Organising Secretary, Md. Nowroz Ali, Publicity Secretary and ATM Syeedur Rahman Bulbul, Sports and Cultural Secretary.
Newly elected president Shahedul Islam said total number of members of the association is now 1300. Plastic products worth Tk. 16 billion are exported and the domestic market size is Tk. 50 billion.
He also said that plastic is a growing sector. Under the new leadership both the plastic market and business will be expanded. He said new leaders will give attention to save environment by re-cycling the plastic waste.
