New friendship body to boost BD-China ties

A friendship body has been formed to further strengthen bilateral ties between Bangladesh and China.
Recently on an invitation from the Chinese government, a group of 100 local youths visited China marking 40 years of diplomatic ties between Bangladesh and China.
They formed the Bangladesh-China Friendship Alumni Association (BCFAA), according to a press release.
The body organised an Iftar party in the city recently. It was attended by high-ups of the government and officials from the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka.
The iftar party was held in the conference hall of the Department of Youth Development. State Minister for Youth and Sports Shri Biren Sikder MP was present as the chief guest.
Director General of the Department of Youth Development Anwarul Karim, Cultural counsellor Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, Chen Shuang, and its second secretary Ma Lida were also present as the special guests.
Mr Chen Shuang congratulated the BCFAA team and expressed his hope to work together with them in areas of mutual interest to strengthen the ties between the two countries.
BCFAA president Kamrul Islam and general secretary Monjur Elahi along with a good number of young students, young entrepreneurs and government officials were present at the party.
