New Hasina cabinet comprises 25 ministers, 11 state ministers

Shakeup in foreign, finance, agriculture, and commerce ministries is obvious as Sheikh Hasina forms new government following Sunday's much-discussed polls.
Thirty-six persons, including several incumbent ministers, have been invited to take oath as members of the new cabinet today (Thursday), cabinet secretary Md Mahbub Hossain told the media Wednesday.
The new cabinet will have 25 full ministers and 11 ministers of state.
The cabinet ministers are Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader, Dr Dipu Moni, Advocate Anisul Huq, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Nurul Mazid Humayun, Tajul Islam, Dr Hasan Mahmud, Sadhan Chandra Mazumder, AKM Mozammel Huq, Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Naofel, and Farhad Hossain.
Those who were not in the last cabinet but picked for the new cabinet as full ministers are Col Rtd Faruk Khan, Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali, Obaidul Muqtadir Chowdhury, Jahangir Kabir Nanok, Abdus Shahid, Abdur Rahaman, Narayan Chandra Das, Abdus Salam, Faridul Huq Khan, Jillul Hakim, Nazmul Hasan Papon, Saber Hossain Chowdhury, Yafes Osman and Samantha Lal Sen.
Those invited to take oath as state ministers are Simin Hossain Rimi , Nasrul Hamid Bipu , Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Zahid Faruk, A Arafat, Mohibur Rahman, Kujendra Lal Tripura, Rumana Ali, Shafikur Rahman Chowdhury, Ahsan Tito, and Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury.
Heavyweights in the last cabinet but axed from the new council of minister are Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzak, foreign minister Dr AK Momen, finance minister AHM Mustafa Kamal and Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi and health minister Zahid Maleque.
Already on Wednesday, President Sahabuddin Ahmed invited Awami League President and incumbent prime minister Sheikh Hasina to form the government as her party bagged a landslide victory in the parliament election held Sunday.
Hasina was also elected Leader of the House in the first meeting of the AL parliamentary party.
Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, the winner of the Rangpur-6 seat, retains her speakership, with Shamsul Haque Tuku as her deputy.
Awami League stalwart Matia Chowdhury will serve as the deputy leader of the House and Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury will continue as the chief whip.
