New HC to India, Press Minister to US

The government appointed former Foreign Affairs Secretary Syed Moazzem Ali as new High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India for the next three years. The Public Administration Ministry on Thursday issued an order regarding the appointment. Meanwhile, Shamim Ahmed, the City Editor (Diplomatic and Political Affairs) of New Age, Bangladesh's leading English daily newspaper, was made Minister (Press) of Bangladesh Embassy in Washington (USA) for two years, in a separate order. Shamim Ahmed is also former President of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU), according to a news agency.
