New innovation required to face climate change: Speakers

NOAKHALI, Dec 11 (BSS): Speakers at an international seminar on 'Climate Change and Role of Aquaculture on Food Security' called upon the students to come up with new innovation to face adverse impact of climate change.
The students must come forward with technological innovation to check carbon emission, the main source of climate change that has been fast upsetting the environment, they told the function held on Wednesday at the auditorium of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU).
Chaired by Acting Vice-Chancellor Abul Hossain, the seminar was addressed among others by Education Secretary Md. Nazrul Islam Khan (N I Khan), Professors of Strung University, UK Dr. Dave Little and Dr. Fracis. District Fishery Officer Bilkis Begum presented a keynote paper.
Stressing the need for conducting lot of research N I Khan said research and innovation both are badly needed at the moment to face the challenges caused by the climate change. "The research will help innovate the things which are necessary to address the climate change issues," he added.
N I Khan said teaching is a novel profession and it is the teachers only who can play vital role to encourage and make their students as innovators.
Laying emphasis on using technology to establish network he said network and connectivity would help create awareness among people on adverse impact of climate change.
Urging the people not to be panicked, he said the human beings are the creation of climate change and there was no existence of human being 20 million years back.
