New Jiban Bima chief pays tributes to Bangabandhu

Newly-appointed chairman of Jiban Bima Corporation Md Asadul Islam on Thursday paid tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at the portrait of the legendary leader at Dhanmondi 32 in the city.
Managing director of the Corporation Mohammad Saiful Islam, additional secretary of the government, accompanied him, says a statement.
Earlier on Monday, Asadul Islam joined as the chairman of the board of directors of Jiban Bima Corporation. He was accorded a reception with participation of Managing Director Md Saiful Islam, General Manager Abu Hena Mohammad Mostafa Kamal, General Manager Rezaul Karim and deputy general manager and other officials.
Mr Saiful Islam was a member of the Bangladesh Civil Service administration cadre and retired as a senior secretary. He had also held various positions, including senior secretary of the Planning Division under the Planning Ministry and secretary of the Health Service Division under the Health and Family Welfare Ministry.
He obtained honours and master's degrees in mass communication and journalism from the University of Dhaka.
