New JU VC for restoring campus stability

Prof Farzana Islam, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University, said Wednesday she will focus on resolving the crisis that has afflicted the campus for months.
“My first job will be to restore stability on the campus and its reputation”, Prof Farzana, also the country’s first-ever female Vice-Chancellor of a public university told UNB in an exclusive interview.
 She took over the office on March 2 about three months after embattled VC of the university Prof. Anwar Hossain resigned in January bowing to nine months of teachers’ protests.
