M. Humayun Kabir joined Sonali Bank Limited on Thursday as the new managing director and chief executive officer, the bank said.
Prior to joining Sonali bank, he served the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB) as managing director.
Mr Kabir began his professional career as banker in 1979, joining Sonali Bank as provisionary officer. He later joined Agrani Bank in 2001, getting promoted as general manager.
Besides obtaining number of training programs on banking system within the country he gained higher training from America, Germany and Japan.
Born in December 2, 1953 at Bikrampur, Mr Kabir passed SSC and HSC from Rajshahi Cadet College with first division. He then completed graduation and post-graduation education in economics from the Dhaka University.
