Najmul Huq, managing director of Janata Jute Mils Ltd, has been re-elected chairman of Bangladesh Jute Mills Association (BJMA) for the term 2010-2011.
Mr Huq, a leading entrepreneur of the country's jute sector, is also the chairman of Sadat Jute Industries Ltd and Zenin Cold Storage Ltd.
He is an MA in geography from the University of Dhaka, according to a press release.
Syed ABM Humayun, managing director of Saiham Jute Mills Ltd, has been elected vice-chairman of the association for the same period.
The members of the executive committee elected for the term are Chowdhury AK Sadrul Ula, director of Board Burlap Industries Ltd, Giridhari Lal Modi, managing director of Uttara Jute Fibres and Industries Ltd, Bijoy Kumar Modi, director of Nabarun Jute Mills Ltd, Nurul Islam Patwari, managing director of Alijan Jute Mills Ltd, Kaihan N Rahman, deputy managing director of Pubali Jute Mills Ltd, Md Sayef Ullah, managing director of Quasem Jute Mills Ltd, and Kazi Syedul Alam Babul, managing director of National Jute Mills Ltd.
