New office-bearers of BMCCI

Md Anwar Shahid, Managing Director of Shimex International Ltd, has been elected the president and Syed Moinuddin Ahmed, Managing Director of GD Assist Limited, the secretary general of Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) for the term of 2026-2027.
The results of the election to the Board of Directors were announced by the Chairman of the BMCCI Election Board Shahab Uddin Khan on the BMCCI Premises, says a press release.
The newly elected leadership is set to steer the chamber toward strengthening bilateral trade and investment ties between Bangladesh and Malaysia.
Anwar Shahid is a prominent figure in the international trade and indenting sector of Bangladesh. He founded Shimex International in 1993 and currently serves as its Managing Director.
With over three decades of professional experience, he is also the founder of MAS Consultants BD.
Mr Shahid has a long-standing history of leadership in trade facilitation and has been a dedicated member of BMCCI, working extensively to promote commercial exchange and business synergies between Bangladesh and Malaysia.
The newly elected Board of Directors comprises a distinguished group of industry leaders. They are M. A. Bakar, Managing Director of Jaycee Shipping Agency Ltd, -- senior vice-president; Shaikh Bashir Ahmed Mamun, CEO of Aero Speed International Limited, and Md. Arfatur Rahman (Apel), Proprietor of Arafat Motors & Machineries, -- vice-presidents; M. Mahmudur Rashid, Managing Director of Grasshopper Corporation, and Md. Mamunur Rahman, CEO of EXPOPRO, -- joint secretary generals; and Ahmed Kabir, Chairman of WorldBD Trade Ltd. -- treasurer.
The other elected Directors are Dr Lokiat Ullah, Managing Director of Biopharma Limited; Engr. Mohammad Badrul Hassan, Chairman of BBS Cables Ltd; Mohammed Shahjahan, Proprietor of Bengal International Agencies; Abu Hena Mastafa Kamal, CEO of SP Agro Care Limited; Md. Faizul Alam, Managing Director of Savor International Limited; Md. Shahjahan Shaju, Managing Director & CEO of US Energy and Power (Pvt.) Limited; Jobayer Ahmed, Director of Shah Fatehullah Textile Mills Limited; and Mr. Kazi Fahad Mostafa, CEO of KM Air Aviation Ltd.
