New Pay Commission to be effective from July 1: Muhith

The recommendations of the Pay and Services Commission, formed to review salaries of public servants, will be effective from the next fiscal, Finance Minister AMA Muhith has said. ‘We will get the Pay Commission’s report in December. If the recommendations made in the report are easily implementable then it will not take much time to implement them. If the report needs a review then more time will be needed. But no matter whenever we implement, it will be effective from July 1, 2015,’ Muhith told reporters on Tuesday after a meeting with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The 17-member Pay Commission was formed on Nov 24 last year headed by former central bank governor Mohammad Farashuddin, according to bdnews24.com.
