The 36th International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors' Association (IFAWPCA) convention was held in Gold Coast, Australia recently.
BACI former president and Project Builders Ltd Managing Director Aminul Islam and BACI former president and Mir Akhter Hossain Ltd Managing Director Mir Zahir Hossain were elected president and secretary general respectively of the IFAWPCA for the term 2007-2009.
The role of IFAWPCA is to bring closer contact, international fellowship and cooperation among the contractors in the countries and geographical areas in Asia and western Pacific.
A 31 member delegation of BACI attended the convention organised by the IFAWPCA, hosted by Master Builders Australia. The theme of the convention was "Building, the new horizon."
The delegations in the convention shared new and innovative advanced construction technologies with other fellow participants coming from 15 other fellow member countries.
The international conference and Australian Building Exhibition provided them with an opportunity to come across a showcase of modern building and architectural products.
