New president, vice-president of FICCI

AM Hamim Rahmatullah, managing director and CEO of Singer Bangladesh Ltd and regional vice-president of Singer Asia Ltd, has been elected president of the Foreign Investors' Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) for the 2009-11 period.
Mr Steve Wilson, president of Chevron Bangladesh, was elected vice-president of FICCI, according to a press release.
Mr Hamim Rahmatullah is also a director of Singer Bangladesh Ltd and holds similar position in its affiliated company International Leasing and Financial Services Ltd (ILFSL).
He is an MBA specialised in Marketing from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Dhaka University.
He started his career in 1985 with Philips Bangladesh Ltd in its consumer electronics division.
In 1988, he joined Singer Bangladesh Ltd. During his 24 years of professional career, he held key management positions in different capacities.
Mr Steve Wilson was appointed president of Chevron Bangladesh in June 2007.
Prior to assuming the position, Wilson was general manager of Commercial Development in Lagos, Nigeria, responsible for commercial activities of all Chevron's West African projects.
He was managing director of Scandinavian operations in Norway and Denmark, and before that vice president for business development in Latin America.
Mr Wilson has thirty years' management experience in the oil and gas industry in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, West Africa and South America.
He joined Chevron in 1985 as a reservoir engineer. Prior to working for Chevron he was employed by Schlumberger for five years.
Mr Wilson was educated at Rossall School, Fleetwood, and holds an MA in Chemical Engineering from Cambridge University, an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College, and an MBA in business studies from the City of London Business School.
A British citizen, Wilson was born on May 15, 1957.
