New promotional offer for Mitsubishi Sedan Car

FE ReportbrOn the eve of the Eid-ul-Fitr, Rangs Limited, the sole distributor of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation in Bangladesh unveiled a new promotional offer for its Mitsubishi Sedan Car ranges in the city Sunday.brUnder the campaign termed as 'Eid Bonanaza'- Rangs will offer free service and parts up-to 50,000 km for its Mitsubishi Ex and Lancer 1.3 liter AT models. brUntil now, there is a perception among the general buyers that Mitsubishi has a higher maintenance cost than most of its competitors, Managing Director of Rangs Limited Romo Rouf Chowdhury said on the eve of unveiling the offer. Hopefully, this whole new range of offer will wash those ideas off, he added.brHowever, he was concerned about the rise in the price of automobiles lately, triggered by the increase in the tax on the import and sales of cars. As a result of this policy, we are now compelled to sell the same car at Tk. 1.5 million which we could sell at Tk. 1.2 million, he observed. brThe price of the 1500 cc Mitsubishi Ex would range from Tk. 23,000,00(2.3 million) to Tk. 25,000,00 (2.5 million) while the 1300 cc Lancer would be priced at Tk. 15,000,00 (1.5 million).brAnnually, an estimated 16000 to 20000 units of different brands' automobiles are sold in Bangladesh but the overwhelming majority of them are reconditioned vehicles and mere 2500 to 3000 of them are the new ones, Romo informed. brIn our case, we sold around 700 to 800 units each year out of which around 200 units are our marquee product Pajero, he said. Now, we need to promote our other product ranges including these Lancer and Ex, he observed.brThese Lancer and Ex model of cars that we are displaying here today ensures road safety, they are more fuel efficient and among other things has a high quality music system as well as everything you need for a pleasant drive, he said.brWith regard to the high tax on the import and sales of automobiles, he informed the amount of tax imposed on vehicles vary according to their cylinder capacity. For vehicles up to 1500 cc; the rate of tax is fixed at 80 percent, while for vehicles up to 3500 cc this rate reaches about 200 percent, he said.brWithin the promotional offer, customers at present will be able to avail of free maintenance from any Rangs workshop in Dhaka and Chittagong. Gradually, this free servicing will be extended to the workshops in the divisional cities as well. The offer will remain valid till Eid-ul-Fitr.
