New satellite ground station opens at SPARRSO

The new satellite ground station of SPARRSO was inaugurated at SPARRSO auditorium in the city Monday. Defence Secretary Kamrul Hasan inaugurated the new satellite ground station as the chief guest. Chinese ambassador Zheng Qing Dian was present on the occasion as special guest, said a press release of ISPR. Speaking on the occasion the defence secretary said that the Digital Video Broadcast via Satellite (DVD-S) system received through Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organisation (APSCO) would be very useful for conducting analytical and qualitative research using the real time images from FY-2C satellite of China. —UNB
