New UK student immigration system from today

Tuesday, 31 March 2009

International students looking to study in the UK will be able to apply for their visa through tier 4 of the new streamlined Points-based System from today. Under the new system, international students need to pass a points-based assessment and score 40, said a British High Commission press release Monday. It said the students will need 30 points to prove that they have been accepted onto a course run by an education institution which is a UK Border Agency (UKBA) licenced tier 4 sponsor, and 10 points to prove that they have the means to pay the course fees and to support themselves and they will also supply their biometrics details at their local visa application centre.
